The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on October 30, 2026, issued the amendment in the Export Policy of Agarwood under Chapter 12, Schedule 2 ITG (HS) Export Policy, 2022.
The following has been stated:
• The Government has amended Note 3 of the Export Licensing Notes under Chapter 12 of Schedule II (ITC (HS) Export Policy, 2022), under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, read with the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023.
• The amendment permits the export of Agarwood oil, Agarwood chips and allied products through Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, subject to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The existing requirement for a CITES export permit for CITES-listed species and other prescribed export conditions remains applicable.
