The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) on October 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding migration of Health Regulatory Returns and Health Product UIN Generation to the Integrated BAP.
The following has been stated: -
•The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has upgraded its Business Analytics Platform (BAP) to integrate Health Regulatory Returns and Health Insurance Product-related functionalities.
•All concerned insurers are required to submit Health Regulatory Returns for FY 2024–25, FY 2025–26 and subsequent reporting periods through the BAP portal, including RET 197 for Q1 and Q2 of FY 2026–27, except life insurers.
•With effect from November 02, 2026, insurers must exclusively use the Health Product Module to generate Unique Identification Numbers (UINs) for new Health Insurance Products, modify existing products and submit product withdrawal updates.
•The Health Department's email communication dated June 10, 2024, regarding UIN generation shall cease to apply, and insurers must follow the operational guidelines available on the BAP portal.
