The Bureau of India Standards (BIS) on October 29, 2026, issued the amendment and the date of establishment of amendment of certain Indian Standards (IS).
The amendment of the following IS have been established on October 26, 2026 namely: -
• IS 1448 (Part 61) : 2023 Methods of Test for Petroleum and its Products Part 61 Determination of the Leakage Tendencies of Automotive Wheel Bearing Greases (First Revision) - Amendment No. 1 October 2026
• IS 4329 – 1967 Specification for Measuring (Travelling) Microscope - Amendment No. 3 October 2026
• IS 4707 (Part 2) : 2025 Classification of Cosmetic Raw Materials and Adjuncts Part 2 List of GNRAS and Restricted Ingredients (Fifth Revision) - Amendment No. 1 October 2026
• IS 6192 : 2023 Textiles — Monoaxially Oriented High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Tapes — Specification (Third Revision) - Amendment No. 1 October 2026
• IS 15068 : 2001 Oil of Cardamom (Elettaria Cardamomum Maton) — Specification - Amendment No. 1 October 2026
• IS 17508 : 2020 Disposable Adult Incontinence Diaper — Specification - Amendment No. 2 October 2026
The IS shall stay in force without the amendment till April 25, 2027
