The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on October 30, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Premature redemption under Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme - Redemption Price for premature redemption of SGB 2021-22 Series VII due on November 02, 2026.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Premature redemption of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2021-22 Series VII is due on November 02, 2026, after completion of the five-year lock-in period.
• The redemption price is determined based on the simple average of the closing gold prices (999 purity) for the three preceding business days, as published by IBJA.
• The premature redemption price has been fixed at ₹14,167 per unit, based on gold prices for October 28, 29 and 30, 2026.
