The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on October 27, 2026, exercising powers under Section 5 of the Seeds Act, 1966, has amended the notification dated December 31, 2025, relating to the specification of seed varieties. Accordingly, the seed variety names against Serial Nos. 35 and 82 have been revised to “DRRH-7 (IET 30165) Hybrid” and “P33309 (PM 22117)”, respectively.
Further, the geographical areas specified against Serial Nos. 84 and 89 have been revised. Serial No. 84 now covers Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, plains of Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Serial No. 89 now covers Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
