The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) on October 29, 2026, issued the Draft Drugs (...... Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Drugs Rules, 1945.
The following has been stated: -
•The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has amended Rule 43A of the Drugs Rules, 1945, to include additional Inland Container Depots (ICDs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for regulatory purposes.
•The amendment adds ICDs at Sonipat, Piyala, Harsaru, Dadri, Gandhidham/Mundra, Sanath Nagar, Thimmapur and Whitefield, along with SEZ Bommasandra.
•Further, Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh has been added to the existing list of locations, including Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram and Navi Mumbai.
Objections and suggestions may be given within 30 days from November 02, 2026.
