The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) on October 24, 2026, notified the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Transmission Tariff) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2026, to amend the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Transmission Tariff) Regulations, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The amendment provides that failure by the Licensee to submit a tariff petition within the timelines prescribed under Clause A24 may attract a penalty or fine, in addition to the disallowance of carrying cost.
•The penalty or fine shall be determined by the Commission as deemed fit and proper.
•The Commission must provide the concerned Licensee a reasonable opportunity of being heard before imposing such penalty or fine.
These Regulations shall come into force from October 24, 2026.
