Labour Complianceclass="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has decided to strengthen its quality assurance mechanism by permitting drug and medicine testing through Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO)/Government Drug Testing Laboratories, in addition to ESIC-empanelled laboratories, wherever necessary and subject to applicable rules, procurement conditions and prescribed procedures. The identified laboratories include Central Drugs Laboratories (CDL), Central Drugs Testing Laboratories (CDTL) and Regional Drugs Testing Laboratories (RDTL) located at Kasauli, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Guwahati.

ESIC institutions are required to confirm the testing facilities, scope and sample acceptance of the respective laboratories and submit samples in accordance with their prescribed procedures. Proper records of samples and test reports must be maintained. In case of Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) results or other established quality defects, appropriate action shall be initiated under applicable statutory provisions and contractual conditions, and the matter shall be reported to ESIC Headquarters along with relevant test reports and batch details, wherever required. The existing and ongoing empanelment of laboratories by ESIC shall continue independently.
