Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), on October 23, 2026, exercising powers under Section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, has notified amendments to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, following consideration of objections and suggestions received against the draft notification G.S.R. 313(E) dated April 27, 2026.

Other changes include corrections to NMHC and CH4 column headings, emission measurement units from Mg/kWh to mg/kWh, correction of the prescribed value from 60 to 600, and substitution of Annexure S with Annexure SA for E100 vehicles under Rule 115E(4).

The amendments come into force from the date of publication in the Official Gazette, unless otherwise specified. Vehicle manufacturers and other concerned stakeholders must take note of the revised technical specifications and applicable requirements under the amended Rules.
